I take steroids, but I am still a natty
Yes you read that right...
And when I say take steroids, I mean that I use the sauna.
It’s basically equivalent right? Okay, maybe not literally, but hear me out.
Many steroids provide synthetic versions of hormones like testosterone (an anabolic steroid), and some peptide hormones increase hGH (human growth hormone). While peptide hormones may not be steroids, we are still viewing them as something that would revoke natty status.
And saunas can provide increases in testosterone, hGH, heat shock proteins, and many other detox benefits.
So they both provide similar benefits, but obviously steroids work better right?
Yes.
You probably thought I was going to attempt to make a case that they do not, but the truth is, steroids can make you transform far quicker than any natural remedy. And that is why they are so tempting - faster results. But fast is not always sustainable.
That’s because being synthetic comes with a price.
Steroids create a world of problems for your organs. They can shorten your lifespan. Worst of all, most steroid “gains” are dependent on constant steroid use.
That’s where the sauna is different. Instead of harming your organs, it can enhance them. Instead of shortening your lifespan, it can increase it. Best of all, you can stop going to the sauna, and you won’t lose out on all the benefits you gained from it.
Now I know these are mostly broad generalizations, but the core idea holds that most steroids will not benefit your overall life in most cases, and the sauna has the possibility to enhance your life in more ways than one.
I encourage you to try the sauna for 20 minutes after your workouts for a week and see if you notice any differences in your quality of living (the first thing you will probably notice is that you sleep better!).

Luke
